MVSD Trading Guide: Fair Trades, Demand and Scam Defense

How Trading Works in MVSD

Any weapon skin you own can be traded directly to another player. There is no auction house and no middleman system — which means the only protection you have is knowing what your items are worth before the trade window opens.

Three facts frame every MVSD trade:

Value Is Only Half the Math — Demand Is the Other Half

Two skins with the same listed value do not trade the same. A high-demand legendary knife moves in minutes; a low-demand retired gun can sit for weeks. That’s why our value list carries a 1-10 demand rating next to every band:

Scam Patterns to Refuse on Sight

  1. The rush job. “Quick trade, I’m about to log off” — urgency is manufactured precisely so you skip the value check. Slow down; the deal that can’t wait five minutes is the deal designed to beat the five-minute check.
  2. The stack of junk. Eight commons and two rares look generous against your one ultra-rare. Sum the bands: a pile of 5-30 point skins never adds up to a 3,000-point knife.
  3. The fake middleman. Nobody official will ever hold items “to verify a trade”. The trade window is the only trusted mechanism in the game.
  4. The off-platform promise. Robux, gift cards or “I’ll pay you after” — anything outside the trade window is a story, not a payment.
  5. The lookalike swap. Standard-case skins dressed up as their limited cousins in chat. The item tooltip, not the chat message, is the truth.

A Clean Trade Routine

  1. Open the value list and band both sides of the offer.
  2. Check demand ratings — don’t trade liquid items for illiquid ones at par.
  3. Confirm variants in the tooltip.
  4. If the numbers are close, sleep on big trades — collector items reprice slowly, you lose nothing by waiting a day.
